3rd Party 2FA?
Why don't you allow customers to use their own third-party authenticator apps for 2FA?
Forcing users to install yet another proprietary app is not an added layer of security—it’s an unnecessary barrier. Many people who already use trusted 2FA apps like Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator for other services are now forced to either enable less secure SMS-based 2FA or turn it off altogether. This undermines the very goal of two-factor authentication.
As an internet service provider, your handling of account security should be better. Customers should be concerned when a company discourages the use of widely accepted, secure authentication standards. You should be enabling better security, not limiting it.
Please reconsider your approach and allow support for standard third-party 2FA apps.
