will an agent ever ask me to input my entire social security number and birthdate before proceeding with phone call?

Hello, @user_lupj8z thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. That is a great question. No, a social security number and birthdate is not required for authentication. A 6-digit code sent via text to the mobile number on file or email address is the standard authentication process. At times, I've seen that asking for the last 4 numbers of a card on file may be an option, but that is typically for Xfinity Mobile accounts.

From experience, the only time I've needed a customer to input their social or birthdate is when processing a new order for either residential services (if choosing to run a credit check) or Xfinity Mobile service which is required when placing an order.
