unable to verify mobile phone number

I am trying to update the mobile phone number associated with my xfinity account. To change the number, I am asked to verify the number by having a code sent to my phone and then entering that code to confirm. My phone never receives the text with the code. I have tried many times. It never arrives. I communicated with tech support and they were not able to fix this issue either. I have received texts from xfinity (for other reasons) so I know the cell number is correct and that xfinity has the capability to send me texts. Can anyone please help me with this?

If you're Xfinity ID is the Primary ID, it may be best to try to make the change while logged in on a computer. Only the Primary user can make these changes. We have some steps outlined here for your convenience.

@XfinityXanadu​ I am the primary ID and I am trying to make the change while logged in on a computer. Unfortunately, regardless of that, I am still not able to receive text messages to verify my mobile number. And I should also add that I am not using Xfinity Mobile.

@sebe when reaching out to support did the customer service representative try to add the mobile number to the account?

@XfinityDena​ I don't recall that they did. I was basically told to try again in a few hours, which I did and encountered the same continuing problem.

Can I please be given a number that I can call and speak with a person? The Xfinity Assistant is terrible at helping me with my situation.
