Trying to delete empty email account that I don't want to migrate to Yahoo. How?

Hi!

I have an Xfinity email account that is no longer necessary. It's empty. It became unusable following one of the Xfinity data breaches. I'll never use it again. I do have 4 other Xfinity email accounts and 9 Yahoo accounts. I want to close and delete at least this one Xfinity email account - probably another (bec it was breached, too) - before the migration to Yahoo, for which I received an invitation a few weeks ago.

How do I close and delete the account(s) now,  before the migration? I can't find a way in the email interface itself and so far have gotten nowhere trying to delete a viewer account either, in case that's the way. When I try to access the "Viewer" page it loads and disappears, over and over again.

Trying to find help via AI isn't working.

Please help. Going around in circles, myiPad's overheating. :/

Hello user_e31eb9_Robin_ thanks so much for taking time out of your day and reaching out with these Xfinity email questions!

Beginning January 2025, inactive Xfinity Email (comcast.net email) accounts will be closed after a 90-day window of notifications.

Customers with an inactive email account may download inactive email data and close the email account via export.xfinity.com.

  • Customers may do nothing and allow the inactive email account to be closed and data to be deleted.

Hi, XfinityAlfonso!

Thank you for replying!

The email account's been receiving creepy spam for years. I've logged in periodically just to make that sure that nothing useful's arrived. Does that fit the "inactive" definition? I've never received anything telling me that the account was officially inactive.

I need to eliminate it very soon bec of the 10 account Yahoo account limit. If I could click something to delete it today, I would.

Of course, that's what we're here for! "Inactive" means that it hasn't been logged into for that 90-day period. So by checking it periodically, you are keeping it live and active.

OK.

Is there a way for me to delete it, make it gone, soon?

I don't need it. I don't want it, I don't want it to be moved to Yahoo.

For most of our agents, it's not possible to just delete the box. However, our Security Assurance Team may be able to help with this.
