Transfer account to roommate?

Hi all - Im moving across the country and would like to leave the modem and wifi for my roommate. Can I transfer my account to her so I’m no longer linked to or responsible for it? Thanks!

Hello @user_qbejep, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum, and we would be happy to help. You can find help Changing ownership of an Xfinity account  here. We can put in the request for you and both parties need to send info or you can cancel the account and your roommate can open a new account with us.

If I cancel my account and she opens one, will she be able to keep the same modem and plan? I think it makes more sense to just change the ownership of the account- can you put in the request? I cant seem to find anywhere else to ask

It would be best to change ownership to prevent any break in service. We can fill out a ticket here or you can visit a local service center together. The form can be located at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/account-ownership-change. To make things easier for you here is the form in PDF: https://secure.xfinity.com/anon.comcastonline2/support/help/faqs/account/HOW12154_Affidavit_Account_Reassignment_043019.pdf. Please note to transfer the account to a new account holder the form would need to be notarized and filled out by the current (you) and new account holder (roommate). Notary not required if both parties are in person at an Xfinity Store with government-issued picture identification (driver's license, passport, etc.)
