Suddenly, my login credentials quit working for XFINITY hotspots, any device, any hotspot.

About 2 days ago, my win 10 laptop AND my android tablet stopped getting internet connectivity through my usual multiple XFINITY hotspots around town, including the one in my house. A connection is established to the wireless router, but the android says "Couldn't get IP address" and the laptop says "connected, no internet." All devices work fine otherwise, including the wifi network on the same xfinity router in my house which also broadcasts the hotspot.

Seems to me the central xfinity network won't give my login an ip address for some reason, although I have no idea why that would have changed... my account is on auto-billing, has been working fine 17 months since it was installed. Probably irrelevant: my neighbor signed up recently. I also noticed the android app showing XFINITY hotspot locations no longer lists one at my address.

Any ideas or help is welcome.

It is working again. I got my first chance  in 2 weeks to try the hotspot across town, and my tablet took me to a sign on screen that auto-connected with remembered credentials. My laptop auto-connected to the same hotspot, with no sign-on screen at all. So, maybe I just had bad luck, and my 2 most common hotspots (12 miles apart) lost internet on the same day while the router remained powered up.

Thank you for all the details, @user_b271db. What are the lights currently doing on the modem? Are you using a standalone router with this modem or is the modem an all-in-one?

@XfinityKimberlyB The top three lights are solid (power, us/ds, online), and the next 2 are blinking (2.6 ghz, 5.2 ghz). This is an XFINITY modem with router and wifi built in.

On the other xfinity modems around town that serve as hotspots where I'm also suddenly having this problem, I can't see the lights, and I don't know their network configurations. This problem spans many devices and hotspots. The only common variable I know of is my login credentials.

It just worked at a third remote hotspot, and I won't know if it's now fixed for all locations or not, until I get back home. Maybe I'll be able to test a few more while I'm out and about. I will PM you, thank you.

On the way home it worked again with the tablet at a 4th place, and at home it's still not working, so my initial assumption was wrong, it's just my home router (2 days) and 1 hotspot on the other side of town (yesterday) that aren't giving my devices an ip address.

I haven't been able to access hotspot for over a week.  No popup login page.   just says can't connect to this network or it connects but no internet

I am sorry to hear that you are unable to connect to the hotspot. Have you tried to forget the network and then try to reconnect? To respect your time may I also ask what troubleshooting steps you have already tried?
