Service Takeover

I am buying a 2nd home in another State from where i live. The seller wants to leave the equiptment and i want to keep his exisitng equiptment and just  takeover his account as of the closing date. I was told we both have to go to the xfinity store together which is not psossible. Is there a simple way to accomplish this. An xfinity rep told me to request a "takeover serice" form that we both can fill out and submit.
