resetting password

I have an email account that I've used for 20 years. Due to a security breach I am being forced to reset the password. When I go through the procedure it asks me for a phone number associated with the account and then tells me it doesn't recognize the phone number. Luckily I can still see emails on the Iphone mail app. I have spent hours on the phone with comcast only to keep getting different phone numbers to try. Usually they are to call back but never do. Does anyone have any advice?

@user_xo749q Hello and thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry you're having an issue with changing your password. We are here to help! Are you using the app, website or a pop client? Are you able to log in through our Xfinity app and update your phone number in your customer profile and then attempt to change your password?

I am on my pc and I cannot log in to anything.

user_xo749q. We will get to the bottom of this for you. I'm sorry to hear you're unable to log into anything. Are you using the primary username and password under the Xfinity account?

 

 

Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies on your web browser?

Can you try using a different browser? 

 

Are you using a third-party email program for your Xfinity email, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, etc.
