Purchased new contract on old account. Best way to transfer internet service with little downtime?

I just purchased a new contract (with new account number) under my old profile, which already has internet service on a seperate account.  My profile now has 2 accounts under 1 address.  The plan is to cancel the current old account (preferably before the next billing cycle kicks in) and switch service to the new account.  I was wondering the best way to transfer internet service with as little downtime as possible?

My wife works remotely, so I was hoping to have it done in an afternoon/evening or weekend, as soon as possible.

I am using my own modem.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Greetings, @PRIZIRP! Thanks for reaching out to us on the Forums! I hope you are having an amazing day! If you got a new promotion there shouldn't be any downtime. If you are transferring services to a new address, as long as the tap is hot, there shouldn't be any downtime there either. It sounds like we may need to have a closer look into this to see the full picture. Can you please click the Direct Message icon at the top right of the page, click on the pen and pad icon and enter Xfinity Support in the "To" section of the chat and provide us with your first/last name and full address so we may further assist you?
