My phone number isn't a valid number error message

I got a new phone number, but when I try to update the account, I get an error message that my phone number isn't a valid number. Trust me, it is.

I get the same error message if I try to update on the web or in the Xfinity app.

Online chat sessions are always full and it tells me to try later. I can’t even chat. I have been trying for 3 days. I give up.

What do I do?

Welcome to our community forum, @user_72d091! Thank you for reaching out to us about the issue you're facing trying to update your contact information. It's important to have the correct information on file so we can secure your account and it sounds like you've been trying to get this fixed for a while! We'll definitely stick with you here until this is taken care of. Since it's a new number it may be tied to another customer's account. Please call our Customer Security Assurance team at 1-888-565-4329 and I'm confident they'll be able to help. They are available 6:00am - 2:00am EST, 7 days a week.

@XfinityEmilyB it’s a brand new area code 659 that came out last year. Your systems are telling me my number isn’t valid most likely because it doesn’t recognize the area code as legit. I don’t know what good it will do to call if you you can’t update it either until the system recognizes 659.
