My account linked to my parents account

So yesterday I signed up for internet service with xfinity. Years ago, I helped my parents set up their internet when I was still living with them. I used the same phone number. So when I signed up yesterday, xfinity recoqnized my phone and link my account to my parents. Not sure why it did that and I don't quite understand the reasoning. Anyways, I don't really mind that it's link but I just want to make sure my parents don't get my bill or I don't get theirs. I want to make sure that our accounts are seperated enough that we don't affect each other.

They should be separate, but if you're a manager role on their account (bill payment access) you may get their notifications about their bill being ready.

Hi Freddricm12. Great questions. They won't get your bill and your won't get their bill. if you're set to get a physical bill in the mail. The reason they linked up is because of using the same phone number. It should have given you an option at that point to create a new username though. This should help: https://comca.st/38FC1ku.
