Made mistake setting up new service
I'm now divorced, and I needed to set up new service at my new address while transferring the existing service to my ex. Last night I began setting up new service, but may have made a mistake when it asked me to sign in under my Xfinity ID. I ended up completing all the steps until I got to the TOS agreement, but then I got worried because I saw it was going to associate the new service with my existing ID, and I was afraid this might terminate the existing service as if I were moving the whole household. So I stopped there and closed the browser tab. But then the email came in to tell me there was a second account now associated with my ID, and that I'd have the choice of which one to look at when I logged in. Great, I thought, they seem to have done this right. So I logged back hoping to complete the new service set up, in but saw no new account.
So now I don't know how to proceed. Is there an "orphan" account associated with my new address, that will cause problems when I go back in to set up the service? Or did it actually delete the new account when I failed to complete the signup?
And, is this the correct procedure anyway? I want to keep the existing service under my name until my ex is ready to start paying for it herself. Can I just transfer it to her online later?
