"Looks like you can't make changes to this plan. Please contact the account owner to continue." as the owner of the account...

I've been trying to take a look at possibly changing/upgrading my plan or even adding add-ons, but I keep getting sent to a page that shows "Looks like you can't make changes to this plan.  Please contact the account owner to continue.", even though I am the account owner.  I tried asking Xfinity Assistant, but apparently they aren't able to pull up any information about my account. 

What is the solution to this? 

I asked my son, who has his own Xfinity account as well, but he is also getting the same issue even though he is the account owner for his own household.  So this seems like a overall issue with Xfinity's interface for existing customers...

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message icon” (upper right corner of this page)
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • Type "Xfinity Support" in the To line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send your message
