Incorrect password prompts - why?

Just reset my password because it’s been a while since I’ve done that, but now when I try to use email on iPhone and iPad I get prompts that my password is incorrect. I shut down and restarted both and it still has error messages?

@XfinityKassie

hello, that fix seemed to work for a bit but I just received the error message again: cannot send mail, username or password are incorrect.  But they are not incorrect…

user_Dk81a2 Thank you for giving that a try, and the update. Let's take a closer look. Can you please send a Direct Message with your name, the service address, and your email addresss we will be working with?

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (looks like a text bubble)
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

I don’t see where to do this in the app. When I click into account and see the text bubble, I don’t then see any pen and paper icon. I only see the usual options for Xfinity assistant help topics.

it’s happening still. My husband can send emails from this account from his phone, but I cannot, says password incorrect.

Thank you for reaching back out to us @user_Dk81a2. If you click the text bubble the pen and paper icon should be to the right of the conversations option. You can also reach out to the customer security team at the https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ site for password assistance, there is also a direct number to that security team available at that site.

Ok I will go to that other site. Just to show you what I see when I click on text bubble though - I don’t see a conversations option either

Thank you for sharing that screenshot @user_Dk81a2!

Just to clarify, are you using the apps on your phones to access the email such as the iPhone’s Mail app, Gmail, or Outlook?

If you are, please log out/remove the email from your iPhone’s mail app. Then please make sure your email has third party access enabled. To enable third-party access to apps such as Apple mail, please:

Sign in to your comcast email through the website here

Select the settings (gear icon) in the top right
Select “Email Settings” below the gear icon
Select “Security” in the top left
Make sure the box below “Third Party Access Security” is checked.

After deleting/removing the email from your iPhone’s mail app settings, and enabling third-party access we will want to follow the steps in this article here to make sure the Xfinity email is correctly added the email app on your iPhone.
