How do I change my legal name with Xfinity?

I've been on Xfinity chat assistant several times about this issue so I figured I'd try this. I changed my name on my account, but my former name is still showing up on contracts so this leads me to believe I only changed my "preferred name" in the system and that's different from a "legal name." This change was legal, so how do I go about having that reflected on all aspects of my account? Thank you.

If the name on your billing statement doesn't reflect the correct name then you would want to go into your local service center with a photo ID that shows the correct name and have them update it. Additionally, we can also open a ticket to have that change requested as well. You would need to upload some documentation though. Keep in mind we won't ask for that type of documentation here on the Forums but we can definitely get the ticket open. If you'd like us to do that just send a DM to Xfinity Support with your full name and address to get started.

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 Press Enter to send it
