How do I change account ownership?

My ex has moved out and I am taking over our internet. Is there a way for me to become the owner of the account to keep everything running smoothly?

Hello @user_bk710f, and thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community Forum! I apologize hearing about your circumstances. We appreciate you wanting to keep your Xfinity services up and running, and you've come to the right place for help.

We understand there are situations where an account ownership change may be needed, including when a roommate or family member moves out. You can learn more about the process in our support article on https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/account-ownership-change.

We'd be happy to help you get started. Is your ex still available to participate in the ownership transfer process, or will you need to explore other options?

Let us know a bit more about the situation, and we'll guide you through the next steps.

Okay, great! When you all are ready, it's best the account holder reaches out to us. Please send us a direct message with the account holder's full name and complete service address to "Xfinity Support".

To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

How to Send Us a Direct Message:
To send us a direct message:
1. Click "Sign In" (If necessary)
2. Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon.
3. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
4. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support".
5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
8. Press Enter to send it.
