Changing Xfinity forum email address

Hi,

I have changed my email address and would like to update the email address used with the Xfinity forums. I found some pre-existing posts about this, such as https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/getting-started/update-email-address-for-community-forum-account/64ea734fde75d267de828811

According to that and other posts, I should update my email address on the main Xfinity web site, which I have already done. The main Xfinity web site appears to have no record of my old email address, and when I attempt to login to the main web site with my old email address, I correctly get the error "The Xfinity ID you entered was incorrect. Please try again."

However, if I login to the Xfinity forums, using my correct email address and password, it automatically brings up my old email address on the forum site. Other forum posts talk about re-registering, but I have not encountered any possibility of re-registering, because logging in with my new email address automatically brings me to the pre-existing forum account with my old email address.

How can I update the email address on my old forum account (which I understand to not be possible), or actually re-register with a new forum account with the new email address that is already on my Xfinity account?

Our Xfinity app and the website makes this pretty easy, I just recently updated mine. I included the steps right here below for you. 

Modify Your Preferred Email Address

You can change or set your preferred email address in the Xfinity app:
  1. Tap the Account tab.
  2. Tap Account settings, and then Xfinity ID and security.
  3. Tap the email address you want to change or set as preferred.

  4. On the pop-up screen, tap Change email to enter a new email address or Make this preferred to set the current email as preferred.

    • Note: After you change your email address, you’ll need to confirm the change by entering the six-digit verification code we’ll send to the email address you entered.

I have already previously successfully updated my Xfinity email address following the instructions you mentioned. It's specifically the forum email address I am trying to update. My forum email address is an old email address that I have already removed from the list of Xfinity email addresses. As I understand from previous posts, it is not possible to change the forum email address, so if that is still true, I would like to create a new forum account. However, when I try to log in to the forums with my Xfinity info, it automatically finds my forums account with my old email address and there is no opportunity to create a new forums account.

minibusyYou will need to add that email address as a user profile for your Comcast account. You will then be able to re-register in the Xfinity Forum with that preferred email address. Unfortunately, there will be no way to link the 2 profiles in the forum, but at least at that point you will have a profile linked to your preferred contact email address. I have already previously added my desired email address to my Comcast account, and already removed my old email address from my Comcast account. However, I have been unable to create a new forums account, as when I log in to my Comcast account, the forums automatically finds my forums account with my old email address.

minibusy Try clearing your cookies/cache when you are attempting to register a new Forums name.
