Can’t switch Xfinity Accounts

I can’t switch Xfinity accounts. For some reason when I login, it’s not to the default account. And now I can’t even switch to the default period. Logging out and back in is useless, because they have the same login, but different account numbers. It’s a shame whenever I call customer service I get AI voice agents who are useless. And it won’t let me chat with someone because the account it defaults to (again, not the default I set in preferences) is inactive. Saw people had this same issue 3 years ago, and shame on Xfinity for not fixing it. Thank goodness I am leaving Xfinity anyways. Verizon had better prices and does not use AI.

Good morning, @user_kad195 . I'm very sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with managing your accounts online, especially when you've already tried logging out and back in without success. If multiple accounts are linked to the same Xfinity ID, one thing that may help is visiting the linked accounts section of your profile in a desktop browser and confirming that the active account is selected as the primary/default account. After making any changes, clear your browser's cache and cookies, then sign back in. If the issue continues, it may be related to how the accounts are linked under the shared login. In that case, creating or using a separate Xfinity ID for the active account can sometimes resolve the account-switching issue. I understand how frustrating it can be when you're unable to access the correct account and can't reach the support options you need. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry for the experience you've had.

I’ve tried setting the default and logging out/back in already, that did not work. The default account is the active account, but whenever I login back in, it’s logging in to the inactive account. I have no way to change the xfinity ID of the active account, because I can’t access it. Do you have a real person who can fix this issue? I’m tired of dealing with AI.

Can you please try the following, @user_kad195

Go to the Xfinity Get Started page

Open a private or incognito browser window and visit the Xfinity Get Started portal https://idm.xfinity.com/myaccount/create-uid?execution=e1s1. Enter the mobile phone number associated with your active service address.

Create a new Xfinity ID
If the system finds your active account and indicates an existing Xfinity ID is already linked, select the option to create a new Xfinity ID. Please use a different email address that has not previously been associated with an Xfinity account.

Sign in with the new ID
Once the new Xfinity ID has been created, log in using those credentials. Since the ID was created directly from the active service address, it may bypass the inactive account and take you directly to your active account dashboard.

Please let us know if you're able to access the correct account after completing these steps, and we'll be happy to continue assisting if needed. 🙂

When I enter my phone number and the subsequent code it says: This information doesn't match our records. Try again or contact us and one of our agents will be happy to help you. So I can’t change the Xfinity ID.

I'm sorry for the trouble you're having, @user_kad195 . If the system isn't recognizing your information when you try to create a new Xfinity ID, we'll need to take a closer look at the account and how it's linked in our systems. Please send us a Direct Message with your full name and service address, and we'll be happy to review the account further. Once we have the account pulled up, we can investigate why the active account isn't being recognized and what options are available to help restore access. I understand how frustrating this has been, and I appreciate your patience while we work through it with you.

To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forum's page.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "to" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message
You must use the primary Xfinity ID
