Can't add second xfinity email for my spouse

I am trying to add a secondary email address for my wife to my account. I'm able to create a new user linked to my account, but I can't seem to get a new email address for her. What's going on?

Note that I used to have a secondary email address on xfinity that I used when I suspected it would result in spam, but I deleted it today specifically so I would have a secondary phone number to verify the second email address. It let me set up a new account for her, but I can't seem to get email addess.
