Can’t access email for account password reset code

Trying to access my other online account for my Xfinity services (NOT email & NOT this account I’m posting from) and it says that my password needs to be reset. The email it wants to send the code to is one I no longer have access to. I’ve been to the Xfinity.com/password to try the reset as well and same exact option was given. There’s no secondary account recovery option set up and the cell phone number that is listed on the account is no longer active. Can’t get a live person on the chat because I’m unable to log in; the AI actually said “to speak to a live agent you need to log in to your account” and have not been able to reach an actual human via the phone number given by the AI and the pop up when trying to reset the password. I need an actual human who can quickly assist me with resetting this password as I have already spent the entirety of today on this and have got nowhere with it and this is extremely frustrating.

I always receive phenomenal support via the live chat option, but obviously that’s only when you can login to an account, and this is extremely frustrating and a huge disappointment and a far cry from the treatment and ease of problem solving that’s normally given to me by support. Makes no sense why they would put a limitation in place that will ultimately drive potential new customers away if they need assistance before having an active account, as well as anger and drive away the loyal customers they do have if they end up locked out of their account and need help from a human rather than a very poorly trained AI system. There’s not a single logical reason behind requiring someone to be logged into their account to access a human via chat.

Quick assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out to our team here @user_4d06d0. For those types of password issues you would need to reach out to the security team at the https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ site or contact them at the 1-888-565-4329 number. We would have access to your accounts from here, but do not have access to password information.

I do not need to report abuse. I simply need to reset my password, but I cannot access the email it wants to send the reset code to. I need someone to help me get that code sent to a different email or something so that I can reset my password.

That security team would be the only group that has the access to password reset issues @user_4d06d0. The only option we would have here would be to have you send us a direct message with the full name and complete address for the service, and we can submit a request over to that team to look into the password.

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
