I sent an invite to my husband so that he can manage the account as well but it seems to be taking him to his deactivated account. We just bought a home together. Should he use my password from his phone?

Good afternoon user_1urr33. He should be able to continue using his own profile, even with the new account. When he logs in, he will just need to link the new account to his existing profile, and he can choose to unlink the previous address, if he would like. That should allow him to continue using the phone number and/or email address he has been using. Here is some information on linking and unlinking accounts. Please let me know if this helps.
