A Communication Error has Occurred.....

Whenever I try to access any information in my account I receive the error message "A communication error has occurred. We have been notified and are looking into the issue. Please try reloading the page or coming back later."  This has been going on for a couple weeks now.  I saw a few other posts on this same issue, but they both suggest going through the chat system, which does not work.  It has a very specific set of responses and none of them work to resolve this issue.

Has anyone actually gotten any useful help from these posts? The xfinity employees had me reset my password 3 times and then said "Well, that didn't work. Try tech support." First person I reached said I needed to reset my password... I can't even make this stuff up. When that didn't work I got the "You need to log in and make a ticket online for this issue!" This place is either insane or I'm having a stroke. 2 days after another escalation and I still haven't heard anything...

@randomzero1337 when I went through this issue it turned out my Xfinity ID wasn’t linked to a service account, so it would error out when logging in. I had to ask the staff to look into linking the accounts manually and they were very helpful. The trick is to know what to ask… I feel like this is a relatively new bug and most agents don’t know how to fix it yet. I hope that helps!

I think I've found a solution. Go to https://www.xfinity.com/support/ . Search for "xfinity ID not associated with a service account". You'll be asked whether you are looking for wifi password or xfinity ID. Select Xfinity ID. Now select "I forgot my xfinity ID". Select "Look up my xfinity ID". You'll be asked for your address. I can't recreate the next steps in order to enter them here exactly, but I think at this point they said something along the lines of "You haven't finished setting up your xfinity ID. I chose to continue and then was asked for my email and phone number. I entered exactly the information I used when I originally setup my account (matching email and phone number) and the system basically found my xfinity ID using that information and asked if I wanted to associate it with my account. I said yes and got an email that said I associated my xfinity ID with another account. I'm now able to see account information.

I've been trying to access my account for days to set up my automatic payment from my bank and have been getting this same issue. I tried downloading the Xfinity My Account app but the app just closes as soon as I open it. It's kind of nutty that one of the "Best" service providers available can't handle keeping a webpage working.

Hey there @user_6155f2. What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?

I no longer work for Comcast.
