Xfinity Mobile Sim Switch
I would like to take the sim card out of a Moto e5 play that is bought and fully paid for (from XM) and place that sim card in a Iphone 7 Plus which was previously on Verizon.
Can I do this? If so what are the steps I need to take?
Does the Moto e5 play need to be unlocked?
Does the Iphone 7 Plus that was previously on Verizon need to be unlocked?
I have heard that this can be done but that some of the functions might not work? Is that still the case ?
Any help would be appreciated,

Hi listedguru, thank you for reaching out to the Xfinity Mobile team through the Forum. I am happy to answer your questions regarding a device swap.
First, if you’d like to use the Motorola device with a different service provider, yes it will need to be unlocked. This gets escalated through our care team. You can call 1-888-936-4968 for the unlock request. If you are activating the iPhone 7 Plus device, it also will need to be unlocked from your previous carrier. I would recommend working on the unlocks first, this way it makes it easy to move forward.
Second, the SIM card that is in the Motorola device now is only provisioned for that device. If you put it in your iPhone, you may experience connection and functionality issues. Good news is, we do have the option to bring your own device. We can activate the device on your number anytime, if the device is compatible. Here is a link to confirm compatibility.

Once you confirm compatibility, you may either go to your local Xfinity Mobile store to pick up a SIM card and get help activating the device. Or you can call in to our care team to have a SIM card mailed out to you. Once the SIM card is received, we can help you get it activated on your number. It requires a bit of time; however, it can be done. I know this is a lot of information, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.

When you say we can activate the device on your number anytime does that mean I can activate the Iphone 7 (unlocked from Verizon) with the existing xfinity mobile phone number that is currently on my moto e5 play?
I was under the impression that in order to activate this iphone 7 I would need to bring a new phone nunmber over to xfinity mobile?
Can you please confirm?
Thanks,
