Xfinity Mobile Network Booster

How can I boost the signal in my home? I only have 1 bar (my whole neighborhood has this issue).  Even with WiFi calling, I often have calls dropped or people can't hear me.  Do I purchase a network/cell booster from Xfinity?

No, you are not going to be able to get a cellular signal booster for XM.

If you plan on using XM your only option is going to be WiFi Calling, and this requires strong and consistent WiFi in your home. There are several steps that may help.

1.) Make sure you have the latest software update for you modem/router

2.) Make sure that router is located properly, not in a cabinet, centrally located, not near appliances, etc.

3.) Make sure that your phones will only connect to one SSID (WiFi Network Name) in your home, otherwise calls will drop when connecting to another SSID such as a neighbor’s SSID.

4.) Make sure that your selected SSID is using only 2.4 or 5 GHz, not both, otherwise calls will drop if phones switch from one to the other. If you need a longer range set to 2.4 GHz, otherwise try using 5GHz for a stronger signal and less interference form appliances and other devices. Test each.

Good luck!

@XfinityBen  yes - I would still like to know if there is a way to boost the signal, beyond using wifi calling.

We'd be happy to help, I know how frustrating it can be when you miss calls due to signal troubles. We do have a great help site and this article does outline some ways to boost your signal, https://comca.st/3zsKj9O.

If you continue to have trouble, please send a Peer to Peer message to us "XFINITY Support" with your name and address and we can review additional steps to get this resolved.

Same here. They say they use Verizon network but they might lease a small fraction of the towers. The cell coverage is horrible. 1 bar in my apartment, constant dropped calls, voice quality is horrible hear every other word sometimes. They told me it’s the phones, then the SIM cards, but no resolution. I have 4 phones, all have issues. Very disappointed with the quality especially since I thought I was getting the Verizon network coverage

I turned on wifi calling as well, not sure when the phone jumps between the two. I really shouldn’t have to turn on wifi calling. I’ve had Verizon phones in my apartment and their signal is nothing like the 1 bar I get with Xfinity. The issues are outside the home as well. Certain spots I get 5G and full LTE, other places 1 bar to no bars, dropped calls, calls sound horrible. I’ve called and spoken to support many times, have switched SIM cards, reset network settings and still nothing. The issue is lack of signal. For advertising Verizon coverage, there should be an asterisk next to that, I’ve asked a couple of people at Xfinity whether they only lease a small fraction of those towers, no one can give me an answer to that.
