Xfinity makes contracts under one set of prices, then switches mid-contract to a hugely higher pricing. Is that legal?
I agreed to buy Xfinity internet for $39 and the senior mobile phone for $15 (formerly a mint magic customer at $15). In the last two months, Xfinity has
1. Increased internet by an additional 50%. I could not justify this so dropped the internet. At the time, I was told my phone would increase by $10.
2. Yesterday, Xfinity charged 267% of my contract cost, not $10. Previously $15, now $43 was charged on my Credit card.
I tried to talk to people by phone, but gave up and went into the store to find out how to return the phone. I was told I couldn't.
Is it legal to change the contract part way through the life of the contract?

1.) When you signed up for internet you agreed for a certain price for a certain time period. If your agreement was for 12 months then your price probably went up after 12 months. At that time you could or should have logged into your account and would have probably been offered a choice of new rates for 24 months, 12 months, or no contract. You should have clicked on Change Plan to see the current available offers, probably one for $50/mo.
2.) You should not have cancelled your internet plan because if you don’t have internet or tv, XM then charges you either $20/mo or $25/mo for each line.

I called them and was told it was an additional 50%, period. No other offers. I need to find out where to return the phone, as I did not sign up for the most expensive senior phone available.
