WIFI calling won’t turn on - FIXED

If your iPhone (iPhone 8 or newer) on Xfinity Mobile (XM) won’t allow/connect to WIFI calling, I have a “fix” for you to try as it just worked for us!

We have an iPhone 11 using iOS 16.6.1 and XM 54.0.1, and getting the typical error “contact Xfinity to activate WIFI calling”, or whatever the error message says. Many people complained this was an XM error, BYOD error, etc., but it’s really not. It’s more of a software AND carrier system issue.

So here it is… Restart your phone and verify iOS and XM software is updated, and try to turn on WIFI calling. It should now take you to the “update your emergency contact info” page. HERE is where the error lies… YOU MUST TYPE IN ALL INFORMATION FAST. And when selecting the state you’re in you must keep your finger inside the grey highlighted area. If you take too long or tap outside the grey highlighted area it will close and give you the error to call XM again.

Just tried this on TWO iPhone 11 devices and it worked perfectly!

@user_k98ptr, thank you for taking the time to reach out using the Xfinity Community Forum. We appreciate this information offering a potential workaround to help customers get Wi-Fi calling up and running. Out of curiosity, are you coming across any other concerns with your equipment at all?
