Why billed for month when I had no service

I just got the money to pay my bill. It’s been off since December 12.  The bill was 220.00.  Now it’s 336.  They charged me for December 25th to January 25th when the phones were off.  This isn’t a contract and xfinity chose to suspend service.  So I shouldn’t be expected to pay a month that I didn’t have it.
