What do I need to know about swapping sims?

A while back, I asked about swapping sims between my 2 Xfinity phones (an original iPhone SE and a Moto e here, in this thread:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-mobile/can-i-swap-sims-and-as-a-result-phone-numbers-between-my-two-xfinity-mobile-phones/62adee2a72213058e5286b41

@DaveO3  helped, and I finally worked up the courage to give it a try.  He was spot on, unfortunately, in that "... certain functions like voicemail and visual voicemail that work differently on iOS and Android may be a problem..."  When I swapped Sims, I had none of my iPhone voicemails available on my Moto.

Now, I just realized (and BOY, this is weird) that I cannot use the "built-in" visual voicemail on the Moto - I have to use the Xfinity Visual Voicemail app.  I'm hesitant to try the swap again because I'm afraid of losing my voicemails, so I want to ask this specifically:  If I swap Sims - should my voicemails from the iPhone show up on the Moto, and vice-versa?

I have two phone numbers and intend to phase one of them out - so it's important to me that I retain the data that I hope to retain.

What else do I risk losing, if I swap sims?

@XfinityElizabethA   Thank you for the information. I have tried to chat with them, before, without much success. And I prefer this method because I like getting my responses from Xfinity in writing. I will give it one more go, but the reason I posted here is because I was looking for something in writing, and the chat didn’t seem to get me connected to people who could answer my question.

I finally got around to calling in.  I spoke with a pleasant woman but her accent was VERY heavy, which made it hard to communicate.  I was given the information that all I had to do was swap the sims and reboot the phones.  I specifically asked if Xfinity needed to register the correct IMEI numbers to the correct phones, and she said NO - Xfinity didn't need to do anything for this swap to work.

I have a Moto e that previously had a phone number starting with 404.  I have an iPhone SE that previously had a phone number starting with 770.

I've swapped the sims and there's some weird stuff going on:

1) Visual Voicemail isn't working for either phone.  I'm going to give this some time in hopes that that resolves on its own.

2) Messages seem to be working on the now-iPhone (now 404), but are NOT working (not coming in, but seem to be going out) on the now-Moto (now 770).  I found (despite Xfinity omitting this information) that I should turn off iMessage and Facetime before moving the sim from iPhone to Moto.  I did that and it didn't help.

Does anyone know what could cause #2?
