Was told plan automatically switches to unlimited after 4GB... didn't!

Had xfinity mobile since it was released a couple years ago. I am by the gig, and was told if I went over the 4GB mark the plan automatically switches to unlimited...but it didn't and they're hitting me for over $70! Did something with plans change or did they mess up?

Switching between data options isn't automatic, the customer has to initiate it.
