Voicemail delivered 1 month after it was left

I got a notification of a new voicemail this morning (3/28/2023).  I listened to it and it was a call I was expecting in early February.  Then I look at the date stamp and it was left on 2/27/2023!  How is it that a voicemail sits on a server (Xfinity or Verizon) for a month before it makes its way to my phone?  This is the first time I'm aware that this has happened.  I have gotten voicemails in the past that were delivered within minutes.  I'm going to assume that this was just a fluke but it's annoying none the less.
