Use existing or new SIM with new phone?

I am an existing Xfinity mobile customer with a Pixel and just received an iPhone ordered from Xfinity.  It came with a SIM.  I want to keep my number.  Do I activate the iPhone with my current SIM or should I use the new one?  (I asked at the local Xfinity store but the answer I got started with "I think..." which implies it was just a guess.)

I'm assuming the new iPhone is an upgrade on your existing line.  If that is the case use the new sim that came with the new iPhone.  Once you go through the activation process, the new SIM will become active and the old SIM will deactivate.

If the iPhone is on a new line go through the activation process with the iPhone and the new SIM.  After that process is complete, change the SIMS between the Pixel and the iPhone.  Contact Xfinity Mobile Customer service so they can switch IMEI numbers to correspond with the numbers.

You are correct, the iPhone is an upgrade on my existing line.  So the info I got at the store was incorrect (as I suspected.)  Thanks.

I used the "Android to IOS" app on my Pixel to transfer all my data to the iPhone.  Then I activated it using the included SIM and everything went as expected (although I never got the email telling me the activation was complete.)  All my photos, contacts and text messages transferred as well as most of the Google apps for which there are iPhone versions.  It was pretty straightforward.  Next will be my wife's phone (also a Pixel to iPhone transfer).  That should be fun! :-)

I would activate it with the new sim then switch them. As long as you haven't cancelled your number on the old sim you shouldn't have any issues.
