Upgrade iphone

I'v been a comcast/Xfinity customer for 20 years.  I have a 'by the gig' plan for 2 phones that is super cheap.  I want to upgrade one of my phones to a iPhone 17. I know I will need to upgrade to a more expensive current mobile plan.  But I was told that I am not eligible to upgrade and upgrade my phone because I don't have Xfinity Internet.  I live in a retirement community and they supply Xfinity Cable TV service, but the Internet comes from another provider.  I have no control on the Internet provider. My only choice seems to be to move all to Consumer Cellular or another provider.

Yes, your choice is to move to a different carrier. Plenty of them offer deals or trade-ins on new phones.

Anon805606, hello there and thanks for reaching out. I must thank you for 20 years of service with us. You are one customer that knows how to take advantage. I love that! Yes, that is very true. I know before customers who visited the store was able to upgrade in person. Without you having home internet service minimum, we would not be able to upgrade you and ship as the shipping address is not able to be modified. Xfinity Mobile is definitely that amazing perk, however, you can still purchase the device unlocked from Apple or BestBuy and have the device activated on your line. Also do a review on your bill as not having Xfinity Internet occurs a $25/month fee per line.
