Unlock Secondary eSIM while on phone payment plan?

The entire beauty of the iPhone 16 Pro is that it handles dual eSIM pretty darn well (same with Google Pixel). I've been purchasing my phones outright from Apple for the last few generations but got a good "elite upgrade" deal under the newer Premium Unlimited plan for an iPhone 17 Pro. What I didn't realize is that my second eSIM that I use for work (a TMobile account) would get booted off the new device because it's now locked to the Xfinity network.

This seems counter intuitive to me, given that everything I've read says there is a system limitation that prevents two Xfinity lines from being on a single phone at the same time. Meaning, I can't pay for two Xfinity lines if I event wanted to port the TM line over and make it the secondary eSIM. But why lock down both if XM can't even provide the solution to have both lines? Why not just lock the phone unless the primary IMEI is attached to Xfinity and let users connect to whatever secondary network they need or desire?

Aside from paying off my phone early and losing all my future credits, is there a way to unlock the second eSIM? Because as much as I love Dialpad as a business VoIP line, all my iPhone contacts keep looking for me secondary sim line that no longer exists to make calls and texts and it's really frustrating...
