I would be shocked to see a bill like that, so I can imagine what you are feeling. I'm sorry the self-help options did not help, but you have come to the right place. Aside from their phone, are they using a smartwatch or tablet while abroad? These devices are not part of the global pass and would be charged the pay as you go rate.
