Unauthorized mobile account and wrongfully sent to collections

I am writing to formally dispute an Xfinity Mobile account that was opened without my authorization.

While contacting Xfinity to update my internet service due to a move, the agent repeatedly attempted to enroll me in Xfinity Mobile. I clearly declined and stated I would think about it. Despite this, an account was created without my consent.

I never activated or used this service. I later discovered charges on my account, contacted customer service, and was assured the issue had been resolved. However, I have now received notice that this account has been sent to collections.

This is deeply concerning, as I did not authorize this account and it should never have been created.

I am requesting the following actions immediately:

  • Closure of the unauthorized Xfinity Mobile account
  • Removal of all associated charges
  • Immediate recall of the account from collections
  • Written confirmation that this matter has been resolved
  • Assurance that no negative information will be reported to my credit

If this matter is not resolved promptly, I am prepared to escalate through the Federal Communications Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

I expect a written response within 7 business days.71683894
