Unauthorized Charges and App Issues
I have been an Xfinity customer for 3 years. I currently pay $101 for wifi and $98 for 1 phone line. I recently called Xfinity to move my service to another state and was surprised to find myself talking to a human. But not that shocked since xfinity customer service only answers if $$$ is involved, existing customers who call about issues are mere peasants and sadly get the boot to AI which is absolutely worthless.
When I called the other day I spoke to a man on the phone, I said I needed to move my service but I was also considering cancelling xfinity altogether because they overcharge. He claimed with moving he could get me to $90 wifi with a free phone line. I asked about a discount through my company who is big corporation that utilizes xfinity throughout the country and should get a discount, he said oh yes this brings you down to $75 and with autopay you will be at $65 with your mobile line for free for one year. I said fine ok sounds good. But then I looked at my app the next day and it says I have two phone lines so I decided to go in because I am pretty sure the agent on the phone is a liar. Sure enough the agent in the store said no the $65 is the running promotion for a new service to all new customers and since I am moving to another state the wifi counts BUT my phone will be $40 a month. He told me that the extra phone line was probably added as the free line so yes I was misled. I'm [Edited: "Language"] so I've decided to explore other options. I again look at my bill overview on the app $101 for WiFi and $98.89 for 2 lines. I try to click details on either bill *error code* I try to cancel autopay *error code*. Go online to the website, same thing. I then go to my bank statements because when I signed up with xfinity 3 years ago they told me my bill would be $65 for the phone line. Sure enough my bill was $65 to $70 for the past 2 1/2 years then all the sudden on 5/8/2024 I start gettin charged $90.89. For why? What changed? What am I getting charged for? I pay for wifi just wifi no cable and 1 phone line. How does that equate to $200 a month? I reached out to Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division to report Xfinity for numerous violations of the Unlawful Trade Practices Act. Misrepresentation, unauthorized charges and Failure to Deliver Services as Promised.
