There’s no way to unlock a device and keep monthly trade in credit?

I’m traveling internationally next week and will need to unlock my phone. But according to a chat rep who was very patient with my request, once I pay off a phone for it to meet the unlock requirement, any monthly credits for device trade in will stop.

Is there a way to keep the monthly credits and be eligible for unlock?

@casualuser Thanks for reaching out to our Xfinity Community Forums. Depending on your trade in promotion, device trade-in credits will be applied monthly to your account over 24 months so long as a Device Agreement is in effect. Actual trade in amount varies depending on model of phone for trade in and purchase. If line is canceled, voluntarily or involuntarily or device payments are accelerated, balance of credits associated with device payment are forfeited.
