Surprise Scammed
Switched to Xfinity from AT&T and they offered me and incredible promotion. I can get a new phone, they will send me a digital gift card to pay off my old phone, and then I can trade in my old phone for lower rates on my new phone. Well I contacted then after 3 and a half weeks when I didn’t receive my card and the agent told me I just need to wait a little longer and then I must pay off my phone THEN send it in, then get my lower rates. Fast forward to another 2 weeks later and I call and I’m told well actually it’s 14 weeks before I receive the card, but after that I manage to connect to the billing department who tell me wait it’s actually 4-6 weeks. The issue here then is my bill is due in 10 days for $533 and they tell me it’ll be another 10-14 days and I can only use the card to pay off my phone that I’m going to have to now pay off myself so I ask for a supervisor. They tell me that I actually should have sent my phone in already and now that whole promotion is invalid. An agent lied to me, gave me false details and instructions and now I’m [Edited: Language]. I have to pay this $533 out of my pocket and my bills are going to be much higher. Xfinity assured me though that they will investigate and take action against this rogue agent like this will help my situation in the slightest. No transparency, multiple agents telling you different stories, and at the end the customer is at fault or at least they are the ones suffering. Wish I switched to a different service…
