Secure Hotspots

Are Xfinity hotspots secure? With my cell phone, I connect to my rented xfinity modem wifi at home. It's secure. But I see XFINITY and xfinitywifi as available. XFINITY has a lock icon on it. When I'm not at home, should I connect to XFINITY or xfinitywifi?

@XfinityBilly​ Thanks! I could connect to XFINITY with my cell phone. I don't think I'll try xfinitywifi. That's not a secure network. It's public. I wonder why Xfinity makes that available.
