Samsung S10e BYOD Where have people bought it from and got it to work?

Hey all,

I want to replace my phone and ultimately do a SIM swap.  Which vendors have people managed to source an S10 or S10e from and got it activate on Xffinity?  Since I will not have access to the IMEI until I buy it,  and I know which model versions to avoid but I want to focus on vendors where people bought the correct unlocked model.

Thanks,

Hello merlincryst,

Thanks for taking the time to post to the forum.  I’ll be more than happy to provide more information on this front.

When acquiring your new device, the one model number that you want to avoid is a device model number ending in ‘U1’.  Also, as it pertains to Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, make sure you do not purchase from AT&T or Charter.  None of the models mentioned from those service providers are compatible with the Xfinity Mobile BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program.

I’ll keep looking into this for any new developments and will post again if I come across any new info.

Hope this helps.  Don’t wait to reach back out if you have any further questions.

Hello, I have one that was purchased from VERIZON. It is S10e model# SM-G970U. It worked with XFINITY for 5 months even though they said it was NOT compatible. This weekend it just stopped working and I can NOT connect. Is there any way I can find out if there is any way I can get it to work? Did something just change that now makes it non-compatible? It looks like at one time XFINITY sold the same phone directly. I see most posts stating that the phone that ends is u1 is the one that does NOT work. Any insight will be helpful. Its a new phone and it doesnt make sense for me to have to buy a new one... I will probably just go back to Verizon.

I purchased mine from XM (2 times) and got one card for both credits which I applied it to one phone.

@ComcastChrisL,

Almost a year after you wrote this, is it still true that any Samsung Galaxy S10 model with a model number ending in a "U1" isn't compatible with Xfinity's BYOD program?

I'm considering buying a Samsung Galaxy S10e from Swappa.com, model number SM-G970U1, but I obviously won't if I know for sure that it won't work with Xfinity Mobile.

I bought 2 from XM and had no problem with them including debit card sent on time and since used.
