Samsung devices that end in a U1 model number still not compatible with XM?

Is it still true what an Xfinity employee said three years ago on this forum, "Samsung devices that end in a U1 model number are not compatible with XM given that the SIM card will not activate or function on one of these model types." 

The IMEI for my S10e says it's compatible on the XM website, but the model number ends in U1. I will not switch from Verizon to XM unless I know whether this should work.
