Update to my earlier post: I am actually able to get 5G coverage just not in my home.
Can't strees enough, anyone experiencing trouble to call support and reference my earlier info. The issues with the S20 series devices seem to have a resolution now.
Got my wife a new unlocked S20 for Christmas and planned to take it to xfinity for the service. Tried activating today to get the $50 back discount they're offering. Site tells me the device isn't compatible. I've chatted with 3 different xfinity mobile service agents and none of them have an answer. In fact 2 of them just randomly disconnected from the chat. Can I really not take my S20 to their network? Will I have to take the phone to another carrier instead? This is ridiculous.
@jllkk Has anyone told you why it isn't compatible or when it might be? I don't want to go with another carrier that's almost double what xfiniy mobile's price is but it's looking like I either do that or sell the phone and get something else that will work. Such a disappointment.
I purchased my Samsung Galaxy S20+5G from Verizon and now find it is not compatible with Xfinity Mobile. Will it ever be compatible and if so, approximately when.
Just wanted to provide an update on my previous post about being told my unlocked S20 wasn't compatible. This information came from the Xfinity Mobile site when I typed in the IMEI number. As well as 2 different agents on live chat. After learning that it was compatible with Verizon, and Xfinity uses the same towers, I decided to stop at an Xfinity store just to find out why it wasn't compatible with them. Actually had a great customer service rep, which was a refreshing change from previous experiences with Comcast. He said the phone would work. I told him what their website and chat agents told me and he said my screen is saying it will work. So I went ahead with the activation and porting my number from Tracfone. It only took him about 15 minutes to complete things on his end, but almost exactly 24 hours for the phone to start working, which was probably a delay on Tracfone's side of it. My unlocked S20 is running fine on their network so far. So anyone that has had a similar experience being told online that the phone doesn't work, take it into a store and have them check it out. And Comcast, if you're reading this, you should make sure the IMEI checking system is valid on your site. Look at the potential business you could be losing.
Did you check with an actual Xfinity store or did you just check it online? Mine said incompatible on their website but when I went to an Xfinity store they said no problem and got it activated.
If you purchased the S20 from another carrier it will not be compatible with Xfinity Mobile until April. In order for it to be compatible with Xfinity today, the device must be purchased unlocked from Samsung or some other retailer like Best Buy.
My Samsung S20+5G was purchased from Verizon, which is the carrier Xfinity is using. For some reason Xfinity says it is not compatible. Will it ever be, and if so when?
I purchased a brand new unlocked U.S. version S20’s+. The phone has two IMEI numbers and when I called XM they said the phone was incompatible. How is this possible when XM sold the S20+ and are now out of stock? I really like this phone and want to keep it and keep XM! Anyone know how to make the phone compatible with XM? I read about PM’ing on the forum but it doesn’t work! Thank you...
If you purchased the S20+ unlocked from Samsung directly, then it should be compatible with Xfinity Mobile for BYOD now. If purchased from VZ or TMO or another carrier, it won't be available now until sometime in May.
If you have an S20 purchased unlocked from Samsung or Best Buy (not from one of the carriers like VZ or ATT or TMO) then it should be compatible. If purchased from one of the carriers, then we are waiting for a software update from Samsung that will make it compatible (looking more like the end of May now). You can private message me your device IMEI and I would be glad to check it.

Does purchasing from Verizon, qualify for the March 6 date to be accepted by Xfinity. You mention major retailers but not Verizon.
