Refusal to Cancel Account

After absolutely horrendous customer service, Comcast is still "unable" to cancel my last phone line. I have spent countless hours over the last 2 MONTHS dealing with this and have been promised that it would be gone in 5-7 business days, 24 hours, 1-2 hours, etc., but the line and account still remain open on my app.This is all after Comcast lost one of our phone numbers after it had been successfully ported over. I just want my account deleted, so I never have to deal with Comcast again. Why is that too much to ask?
