PORTING A NUMBER

I just got a new line through verizon since my phone broke. my phone is paid off, i’ve been a customer for over 10 years, and i just want my phone number ported over but they say a whole 3-5 business days which is illegal through the FCC and needs to be done in at MOST 24 hours. i’ve spent two days now at xfinity and verizon and no one can help me. Can xfinity please please just port my phone number over? is anyone else having the same issues or can someone from xfinity plz help…
