Pixel 5 unlocked BYOD incompatible
I bought a Pixel 5 unlocked and inputting the IMEI says it is incompatible. As others have said on Verizon IMEI check it is compatible. Not sure if I should try the Sim swap. Xfinity please support the Pixel 5.

Mine continues to work great with the SIM swap and I'm getting 5G service. If I go to XM and do the BYOD the IMEI check is good but it won't upgrade my old phone, just wants to add a line. I'm planning to go my local store to have a tech swap the IMEI and will try to get more info then.

I am now using my Pixel 5 BYOD on XFinity Mobile on the December update and am now getting 5G.
Use this "RQ1A.201205.011"
It'll be just fine.

My phone is still not compatible. I did do the SIM swap, but then when I went into the store to get an update on this.
They told me to not do this, because if my IMEI doesn't match eventually they will block my phone from using their network.
So I went back to my Pixel 3 XL

But I have been unable to update my Android 11 with the December update. I'm still on the November update.
Any info on that?

If youre comfortable with some dos commands you can update to december yourself.
https://developers.google.com/android/ota
11.0.0 (RQ1A.201205.011, Dec 2020, All carriers except AT&T and Verizon) will get you 5g capability on XM.

I have two Pixel 4a5g phones I purchased unlocked from Amazon. When I got the phones, the IMEI numbers showed as compatible through XM checker. I swapped the SIMs from the old iPhone 7s without incident via the XM app. XM support can't add the IMEI numbers as, for some reason, now they now show as not compatible. So in the XM app, my devices still show the iPhone 7s, even though the 4a5g phone work fine. As others have stated, the IMEI check really just is for support reasons. I was not able to get either the December or January Pixel OTA updates via settings (it was showing November as the most current) so I decided to try to sideload them via USB and it worked flawlessly. I know nothing about programming, but it it very simple to sideload the updates and only tool about 10 minutes. I used this page for instructions...

Which version of the OTA update would you use? The general one or the Verizon-specific one considering XM is based on VZW?

I just received the December and January updates on my Pixel 5 after doing a manual check in system settings. Maybe XM is starting to get this sorted out. Although I also responded to a message a couple of days ago from a Comcast employee @ComcastRob offfering to look into this issue if I provided him some information.
