Phones Stopped Working

I have internet and mobile.  Today, at least 5 phones stopped working.  Internet okay...phones not work.

I used chat.  "Arjun" reset all sim cards, stating issue was an error 00234.  Based on community comments, that is an error for streaming video...not phone calls.  Jacked up all my phone numbers as Xfinity told us to switch sim cards for ease of changing phone numbers.

I then called and talked to "Yosef."  He had me do a network reset.  Problem continued.

He then wanted me to power down, pull the sim card, do the hokey-pokey, turn myself around, put the sim card back in, eat a bologna sandwich with a touch of Grey Poupon, and see if that would work.

Ya...obviously it didn't as I am writing in.

I note in my area, Verizon towers are down.  I suspect Xfinity buys time off of Verizon for operating their cell network.  They just don't want customers to KNOW they buy time off Verizon.

In any event, I am reaching out to the community because I think there are smarter people than the 2 Xfinity "tech-support" people I spoke with.  Those guys are current zero for three.

Xfinity Mobile does make use of Verizon network, which means the most likely solution to your problem is to wait until Verizon towers are back up.

rapid growth didn't occur because Comcast started erecting its own cellular towers. Rather, Xfinity Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (or MVNO), which piggybacks on the existing network of one or more of the major carriers. In Comcast’s case, that’s Verizon’s network — including 5G coverage — coupled with the internet provider’s own Wi-Fi hotspots.
