Mobile App EATS battery life

Why does the app need so much background time? It's eating my battery. 14 percent it accounted for, of TEN DAYS. There is nothing to update in the background for them to justify this. I manually turned off background updating but the fact this is even an issue is sad. I never had any app do this. This is a giant issue in sure many people aren't aware of that's just taking so much battery for no good reason. And you guys are already aware of the problem and still haven't fixed it, come on.

I have an active time of 2 minutes of usage

but the background IS 225 HOURS, HELLO????
