iPhone 13 purchased directly from Apple not compatible?

We have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and a 13 Mini purchased unlocked from Apple. IMEI checker says the phones are incompatible with Xfinity, however the phones work just fine on other Verizon MVNOs. Is there an actual technical reason that these phones are not compatible by Xfinity's IMEI checker or is it simply a case of their backend not having the IMEIs in their database?

Any unlocked iPhone purchased directly from Apple is compatible. All you need is a SIM card and if you already have one with service just put it in and it'll work. If not you'll be able to sign up for service and use them.

The entire problem was they couldn't activate any of our iPhone 13s with a new sim because they claim our phones are not compatible. Spent a good 6 hours with various reps trying to activate our 13s without any luck.

Well I won't do any name calling but that's just bull. I've used phones not even sold by Xfinity with my SIM cards. As long as they're supported and they are since they sell them. Do you have any other phones? Either an old unlocked phone or another Xfinity one, although preferably an unlocked phone since you don't want them locking the SIM card. If so I'd put the new sim in one of those, activate it then move the sim over to the iPhone.

I had to activate the lines under different IMEIs and then swap the SIM cards. Giant hassle and a really shoddy customer service experience all together. Luckily the service is cheap by the gig and we only use as a backup if our main provider has coverage issues.
