How to activate a mobile line without an SSN

Hello Xfinity Support,

I’m currently paying $50/month for my internet plan, and it includes one mobile line. I’d like to add a mobile line, but I’m in the U.S. on a J-2 visa and I do not have an SSN yet.

Is there any way to add an additional mobile line without an SSN? If so, could you please let me know what alternative identification or documents you can accept? I can prepare and provide any required documents.

If adding a line without an SSN is not possible, would it be acceptable to add the mobile line using my husband’s SSN (as a family member) and have me use that line? The internet plan is currently under my name.

Thank you.

Hello user_npvo5v, thank you for joining us in our Xfinity Community forums. We are happy you're here, and happy to assist you. While Xfinity Mobile does require a social security number, NOW mobile is available to our customers without a social.

Sadly, that does not fall under the included line bundled with your internet service. I am happy to discuss NOW mobile and the options included with you if you would like.

The mobile line and internet service have to be under the same name/social security number. So sadly, we could not set up a line under your husband's SSN
