how do you get a number from Century link ported over?

I have called 15 times, and spent 10 hours on the phone trying to get a phone port over from Century link.  Everyone i speak with tells me it will be another day.  we are going on 10 days now.    how can this customer service be this bad.  Worst Cel company i have ever dealt with.    Cant even figure out how to send the phone back!!!
